Just saw Oblivion starring Tom Cruise today. Not bad, though it left a LOT to the imagination...I will write a fanfic somewhere that clears up the unanswered questions it posed, just to satisfy myself, of course.

This will be in addition to my version of how the new Evil Dead post credit scene should have been shot...

For that matter, a lot of movies should have had different endings, if ya ask me, but ya didn't...

Well, after a long hiatus, I have returned to the blog. I will be writing new thoughts, ideas and such on the regular, as well as some fiction and rpg newness!

Heavy D, aka Mr. Big Stuff, the Overweight Lover has joined 'Pac, Biggy, Jam Master Jay, Big Pun, Left-Eye,  and Aalyiah in Hip-Hop Heaven.

A sad day as another great young talent that blessed us with his lyricism, heart, humility and humor has been called home.

I most recently saw Heav' on the Hip-Hop Awards as he closed the show, in my opinion the best on-stage performance of the night. It seemed like the audience wasn't as hyped for him as I was to see him perform with such agility at our shared age of 44. Maybe they were worn out by the previous performances.

I'm fortunate to have enjoyed his musical genius as it blossomed before us. Say a prayer for his family and praise God for the talent this young Black musical entrepreneur was gifted with.

Our President

I was talking to my oldest friends and we agreed that we never thought we'd see a Black President in our lifetimes. We all grew up being sold the idea that we could be anything we wanted in this great nation of ours; however, my wildest imaginations never included a Brother as the MOST POWERFUL MAN IN THE WORLD.

Now, our president, who validates the promise of America not only for my fellow African Americans, but for all people who believe in equality, is under fire by the opposing party. Now I will admit that things are not as great as we hoped for when we voted Barack Obama in, but he has begun what he set out to do and he needs the support of everyone of every ethicinity and income level that suppored him before to do so again, so that WE can finish what WE began when we voted him in.

As to those who oppose him, but won't own up to the real reason (Begins with an 'R' and ends with 'acism'), it would serve you right if Cain (somehow) won the nomination and went up against the potus.

Of course, I suppose a few people so vehemently against our president are not focused on the color of his skin, but the truth is, the Republicans arrayed against him in 2012 are not going to make the economy or other issues any better. We as a nation need to work together to elect officials from the local to the national level who can work together to help all of their fellow Americans, not just their own constituents or those who can pay for favors.

Day One

So, I've begun blogging and here's my first post.

I often spend my days between jobs (many days right now) observing the world around me and spouting off comments, or complaints, or judgements, to no one in particular.
